After your treatment, there a few things you need to do to ensure best results.

Treatment for wrinkles

After having treatment to reduce the appearance of wrinkles it’s important not to rub or touch the area for 4 hours, and not to lay down for 4 hours. This reduces the risk of adverse side effects happening.

It is recommended that you contract the muscles that have been treated 2-3 times every 15 minutes, for 2 hours following your treatment. For example if you’ve had your frown treated (glabella), frown then relax and frown again. This may lead to improved results.

Some people may experience a minor headache after treatment, taking paracetamol as instructed can be helpful.

Volumising treatments

You may experience swelling, bruising and tenderness at the site after having these treatments, using an ice pack on the area can reduce these side effects.

It is important not to put firm pressure on the treatment area for at least 72 hours, as it may be mouldable and we don’t want it to dent or be squashed down.

Avoid extreme temperatures, e.g. saunas for 2 weeks, and avoid UV exposure for 2 weeks e.g. Sun baking, make sure you wear sun protection to extend your treatment results.

Rarely, a blood vessel may become blocked. The signs of this occurring are: blanching (a white look to the skin), skin colour changes such as a mottled purple/ grey colour, pain and sometimes numbness. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms it is important that you contact us immediately 0458 286 595.

If your treatment has impacted a blood vessel it may need to be dissolved, we will assess you (over the phone/ FaceTime, and if needed in person) and decide if this is needed.

If you are concerned about any adverse effects or side effects after your treatment, please just phone or send a message and a photo. We’d rather put your mind at ease and reassure you than have you losing sleep or worrying!

Fat Reduction

This procedure has some common side effects. These are: Swelling, discomfort in the treated area, tenderness and bruising. We recommend taking pain relieving medications (ibuprofen, paracetamol) after the procedure to increase comfort. Have some gel ice-packs frozen ahead of your treatment so that you can use these afterwards to ease discomfort and reduce swelling and bruising. The tincture of time is the best solution to fat reducing treatment side effects and after the initial 12-24 hours post treatment, side effects will gradually dissipate. This is a treatment that needs a couple of days down time for swelling etc to reduce, planning for this ensures a better experience.

It is common to experience some numbness in the area for some weeks, this generally self-resolves. If you are concerned about anything after your treatment, please don’t hesitate to get in contact.
